Police Suicide Study Sponsored by the FOP Senators
FOP SENATORS SPONSOR POLICE SUICIDE STUDY:
Elmhurst Lodge #81 member, Sen. John Milner (R-West Chicago) and Chicago Lodge #7 member, Sen. Tony Munoz (D-Chicago) filed a resolution calling for a task force to be formed to study the issue of police officer suicide.
The State Lodge’s Illinios Law Enforcement Education Foundation (ILEEF) has identified police officer sucide as its primary concern for 2012. National data indicates that the rate of suicide among police is double that of the general population. The task force would provide up-to-date information, specific to the Illinois law enforcement community, to the General Assembly for further action.
